average: 5%-20% of
people contract the

hospitalized for flu
related
complications, and
36,000 die from the
flu.
Influenza is
contagious beginning
one day before
symptoms develop and
up to five days
after becoming ill;
meaning it is
possible to pass on
the virus before you
even know you’re
sick.
